Grade 6 Curriculum
SkillSpark
SkillSpark is an MSA-designed math fluency program that builds accuracy, speed, and confidence through structured, independent practice. While students work at their individual level, teachers serve as active facilitators, monitoring progress, providing targeted support, and addressing misconceptions in real time.
This fluency work is paired with complementary lessons that focus on conceptual understanding, problem solving, and real-world application, ensuring students not only compute efficiently but also understand and apply mathematical ideas across contexts.
Level 1: Foundations / Basis / Fundamentos
SkillSpark Fluency Focus
Place value with whole numbers and decimals
Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Fact fluency and number automaticity

A Note on Above-Level Students
If a student's diagnostic assessment places them above Level 3: Mastery (Rama Gvoha / Dominio) for their entering grade level, they will not be held back. Those students will receive SkillSpark work and instruction specifically calibrated to their actual demonstrated grade level — ensuring that the most advanced learners continue to be appropriately challenged and supported from day one.
