Leadership

Board of Trustees

At the top of our governance structure sits the Board of Trustees, responsible for ensuring MSA remains aligned with its mission and operates with integrity, fiscal responsibility, and long-term stability.

Mission Protection

Upholding and protecting the school's core mission and values

Leadership Oversight

Hiring, evaluating, and when necessary terminating the Head of School

Financial Stewardship

Approving annual budgets and overseeing the school's financial health

Partnership Development

Supporting fundraising and partnership development initiatives

Policy Approval

Approving major policies and offering input on long-term strategic decisions

Compliance

Ensuring compliance with New York State laws and regulatory requirements

Regular Meetings

Board meetings will be held every other month to ensure consistent oversight and strategic guidance.

Bi-Monthly Schedule

6 full board meetings per year

Executive Committee

When urgent matters arise, the Executive Committee may convene at any time to provide timely oversight and decision-making.

501(c)(3) Nonprofit

MSA will operate as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, ensuring full nonprofit compliance, governance accountability, and eligibility for philanthropic support.

Note: Pending our 501(c)(3) status, MSA currently operates with the support of a fiscal sponsor.

Future Accreditation

As the school grows, Mosaic Shalom Academy plans to pursue accreditation through the New York State Association of Independent Schools, establishing itself among the state's most rigorous and mission-driven independent institutions.
